We need you support and we believe you can make a difference: participate in the training offered by Aangan on Child Sexual Abuse prevention

The Training Program

Since 1993, Aangan has been conducting orientations on child sexual abuse prevention with parents, children, and professionals. We feel that sensitive, committed, and well-trained parents/individuals can help us take our message forward

You can participate in the training if you,

  • Are aged 18 or above
  • Are sensitive, committed, and want to know more regarding this issue.
  • Enjoy working with groups in the community
  • Want to contribute back to society by volunteering
  • Believe that right information on child sexual abuse can enable children to lead healthier and safer lives.

Details of the Training

A. Stages of Training

  • Workshop:
    • 20 hours of training workshop at Rozan office.
  • Objectives:
    • To sensitize participants to the issue of child sexual abuse.
    • To clarify the myths surrounding the issue.
    • To understand the dynamics, effects, and reasons for the abuse.
    • To build participants' capacity to effectively raise awareness on child sexual abuse along with the Aangan team.
  • Community Work:
    • Exposure to an orientation as an observer.
    • A commitment of at least 10-15 orientations over the next six months.
  • Practical Implication:
    • The community work would requires four hours of input from volunteers on weekly basis. Aangan will assist volunteers to identify groups/ schools to conduct orientations.

B. Benefits

  • At the end of the training period, certificates will be awarded to all the volunteers.

What is an Orientation?

  • A participatory group discussion covering information such as definition of Child Sexual Abuse, myths, effects and preventions.
  • Duration: with adults: 2.5 hours
