1. Health Professionals Aangan trains medical professionals on the issue of CSA since they can play a vital role in the early detection and sensitive handling of CSA cases. Unfortunately, the content covered in most medical schools curriculum is limited to the forensic and medical treatment aspects of CSA, and does not focus on emotional and behavioral symptoms and cultural myths and realities. Aangan has been working with the Rawalpindi Medical College (RMC) for the last four years, providing sensitization seminars to the students of Community Medicine. Aangan's work has received positive feedback from the faculty, and they have expressed interest in formally introducing lectures on CSA in their community medicine and psychiatry courses. A formal CSA curriculum on the behest of RMC has already been developed and a preliminary training to conduct this curriculum has been held with professors of four departments (Pediatrics, Psychiatry, Community Medicine and Gynecology). 2. Service Providers Aangan has 13-year experience of working on the issue of emotional health and its expertise are well-recognized on specialized counseling for child victims and survivors of violence. Aangan also provides capacity building trainings on child counseling skills for psychologists, health professionals, and development workers to work with children and their families. 3. Media Aangan provides sensitization workshops on child sexual abuse for both the print and electronic media with the aim of enhancing their understanding of the issue and encouraging more sensitive reporting of cases.
