About Pehchaan Print

Pehchaan was set up as a Rozan program in late 1999 "to promote the creation of a gender sensitive society, where the rights of men, women, youth and children are respected."

Objectives

  • To enhance the capacity of organizations and individuals to work towards gender justice at the personal, professional, and national levels through awareness raising, human resource development, and research.
  • To develop and strengthen Rozan into a resource center that provides training, research, awareness raising, and advocacy on gender issues.
  • To provide a forum for gender-aware organizations and individuals to facilitate the sharing of experiences and the developing of linkages.

Currently Pehchaan is not active as a program. However, Rozan continues performing Pehchaan's activities because gender is a cross-cutting theme and an integral part of all Rozan's programs.

  1. Gender sensitizing workshops are offered on request of various organizations.
  2. Rozan also produced a " Checklist to Facilitate Gender Sensitivity of Relief and Reconstruction Efforts for Survivors of the Earthquake in Pakistan " in collaboration with UNFPA to facilitate gender mainstreaming in various relief operations during the emergency phase.
