As an organization working on issues of emotional and mental health with a special focus on gender; violence against women, children, and the youth; and the reproductive health of adolescents, Rozan contributes significantly towards the attainment of the United Nation's Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), particularly in the promotion of gender equality and empowerment of women and the fight against HIV/AIDS. Rozan activities include capacity building, training, advocacy, and awareness raising programs.

Rozan has specific programs that work towards the MDGs:

Rozan's gender resource and training centre, Pehchaan , works on gender awareness and provides gender sensitization to all segments of society. It also serves as the national secretariat of a national network of gender trainers, Mubariza, produces educational material, and convenes national and regional forums to stimulate, discuss, and debate on issues from a gender perspective.

Rozan's Zeest program provides much-needed psychological counseling to the survivors of violence against women. It also offers specialized trainings on counseling skills and sensitization to issues of violence and mental health to other service providers. One of Zeest's unique initiatives, aimed at empowering the survivors of violence, was a consultation process with service providers that led to the formulation of ethical guidelines for the protection of dignity and the rights of the survivors of violence.

Adolescent Reproductive Health (ARH) is a neglected area in Pakistan and there is a serious dearth of information and services on it. Started as a free telephonic counseling service for youngsters dealing emotional and mental health issues, Rozan's Youth Helpline , in its second phase, now encompasses the critical issues of ARH including HIV/AIDS concerns. YHL provides a number of services that include telephonic counseling to adolescents, trainings to individuals and groups dealing with adolescents, awareness raising programs (in person as well as on radio and television), and educational material on reproductive health.

Rozan's police training program, Rabta , has been working in partnership with the police for the last five years in an effort to sensitize them to community issues, especially those concerning women and children. Currently, the program is exploring the institutionalization of its work into the police force curricula.

Rozan's program for children, Aangan , serves as a training and resource centre on the issue of Child Sexual Abuse (CSA). Moreover, it has introduced a life skills curriculum -- incorporating gender, body protection, tolerance, and communication skills -- into select government schools in partnership with the Federal Directorate of Education.
