10-Day Training of Trainers on Gender Rozan is conducting a 10-day Training of Trainers on gender for organizations working in earthquake affected areas. The training will run from 3-12 December, 2007. The nomination deadline is 12 November, 2007. For details: Workshop Background Experience around the world has shown that understanding gender dynamics in communities affected by disaster is a crucial element for effective and fair rehabilitation -- rehabilitation efforts that understand diverse needs, prevent exploitation and most importantly, utilize the different coping capacities available in society. Addressing gender needs is not only a protection issue -- it is also about increasing efficiency, quality and sustainability of rehabilitation efforts. Rozan is organizing an intensive training of trainers for organizations working in earthquake affected areas in order to build their capacity to sensitize and train their staff on gender issues. Who can Attend? Staff or organizations who are: - Members of gender units
- Gender focal persons/officers
- Trainers
- Capacity building officers
- HRD (Human Resource Development) team members
Registration: Mail your nomination(s) by filling in the nomination form. Last date for sending nominations is 12 November, 2007. Confirmation will be made latest by 20 November. (A confirmation will be sent upon receipt of your nomination form.) Selection process: Once the nomination has been accepted, Rozan staff will initiate a discussion with the organization with respect to application of learning from the training in the organization. Fee: Rs.15,000 per participant (for 10-day workshop) includes training material, certificate, accommodation, lunch and tea. (Discount or waiver of fee can be requested).
